The leading art museum in the Southeastern United States. has two locations: Meier-designed main facility is Atlanta's Midtown arts business district, High Museum of Folk Art Photography Galleries are downtown in the Georgia-Pacific Center. The High's collections include African American decorative arts, European folk modern contemporary art, and photography.

In November of 2005, the new  177,000-square-foot expansion of the High Museum, fashioned by Italian architect Renzo Piano,  added three new buildings surrounding a public piazza which more than doubles the Museum's size to 312,000 square feet—allowing the High to display more of its growing collection.
